Adding Custom Waves

** UPDATED to v0.9 April 26 2003 ** Though still work in progress, this tutorial demonstrates various techniques that can be used to move and manipulate vehicles and teammates with waypoints, area triggers, and event code in Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. .mis, .bms, .wac, and .til files included, all of which should be copied into your DF:BHD install directory. See included text files for installation and use! ** UPDATE to v0.91 April 28 2003 ** Corrected the event for the delta teammate who begins onboard the fast rope helicopter to attack the correct enemy when he stops - new .bms and .mis files included as a result. BHD Basic Helo

Notes:
This small Demo map is set in SP mode, but, can be used in all other maps.
You will need to alter the player start marker to suit your mission type.
Look out for what I have changed..pay particular attention to the type of helo.
fblkhawk - indestructable blackhawk with 2 miniguns, I used this because it's
the only helo you don't need to jump into, just run straight into it.
I also changed the default AI text file for the Helo --
from Helo - Blackhawk (transport) to Helo - Blackhawk Z ignore enemies.
Changing the text file means you don't need events to make the helo climb to
the height of each waypoint, or events to make the helo follow a waypoint.
Make sure your waypoint list loops for this mission.

Sence making a C4 Bomb explosion confuses
so many people, I made a small tutorial on
how to do it. I've made it in a small part
of one of my maps. Hope it helps.

The demo shows how a Medivac Helo picks up a wounded team mate.
You do not need to place a helo on the map.
Just an event will call the helo
The demo is set up so an event kills the team mate.

Notes:
Edit the waypoint list and make it "Blue Team Waypoint", and select "does not loop"
Now, close that off, select all the waypoints, and then "Edit Item Attributes", select "Navigational Waypoint"..
Now select each one in turn, and edit item attributes, use the pull down to give each one a name, otherwise you'll have xx metres to waypoint null showing under the spin map..

The mission in this map, is to demonstrate some of the new features of Team Sabre. I also hope it adds more topics and discussions on WAC file programming on the bulletin board. The map contains various types of assaults, mostly by zodiacs and helicopters. Follow the waypoints, and I promised you'll see things you've never seen before on any Delta Force map. I used a lot of wave files to kind of carry the story. To complete this mission, simply follow old waypoints, and live to tell about it. The highlights of this map, from a technical viewpoint, would be the dramatic airplane crash, the Little Bird clearing out the main harbor, the zodiac patrol run around the island escorted by a missile firing Little Bird, and last but not least, the minigun and rocket strafing run on the fuel depot, which employs a squid routine. I don't know if it's consider a playable mission, I didn't plan it to be, so please rate this fairly. Hope you enjoy. Mr.POW, out
The mission of this map is to make mapmakers and others aware of the special effects available to them in the map editor. You'll be shown 15 different "Firing Ammo" affects, along with the description of the command line used in the WAC file. There are many AI Techs. in this map, there simply targets although some are indestructible. This is a SP map, and to reset it, hit your "ESC" then "R" key. Included are several flight demos, like a Blackhawk downing, you're going to enjoy. The little birds are my favorite, will have done a lot of things such as air strikes, pivit-point-and-shoot, and 0 radius turning. The entire EVENTS file is copied into the WAC file, for your viewing. The MIS file will be available upon request. Please feel free to use any part of this map in your own. I realize this is not a playable map, though watching some of these guided missiles tear up those technicals is a lot of fun. Please rate this map fairly, as I would yours. MR.POW,out
