Map Description:

The dreadnought Iron Duke has become stranded while fighting against a rebel stronghold. If the rebels manage to take control of the ship, it could significantly affect the balance of power in the region. Iron Duke has multiple levels for combat, including a helicopter bay below deck. Fighting can occur both topside and below deck. Gangways provide access between levels. This is the most complex map object I've ever attempted. Appreciate your feedback. A Team Deathmatch and Co-operative version are in the works.

Wow what a really cool map

Blackbeast, I usually don't play AS but with a team of 12 this map could provide hours of enjoyment to people. The ship alone could be the only spawns and would take forever to get them. The layout is awsome. Love the ship. Very well thought out. I can't wait until your COOP version comes out.

Hi 759ftc - thanks for the comments. We are currently working on the Coop version. It promises to be quite fun. There's lots that will need to be done (on the ship and off). I've not been a Coop designer before so there is a bit of learning going on. Hope you enjoy it when you see it. cheers Blackbeast

Being a DFB 'featured' map...

...I couldn't help but downloading it solely based upon the screen shot alone. Like '759ftc', I too do not make a habit of playing AAS maps, but concentrate more on IC and JO:E COOP maps. I must say, however, that I am very impressed with this map, as it's only obvious that you took time, as well as some pride in designing this one...the ship was creatively done, well thought-out, and is extremely well designed. I too am patiently awaiting your COOP version of this map whether it be in JO:E or IC form...cheers.

Wow

...although I haven't actually technically played the map, I had to get it just to see what you did in Nile. Anyone who puts that much time and effort into using objects to create something that actually looks pretty good deserves a kudo's. That's the kind of project I always wanted to do but knew I'd be too lazy. :)

10 nades!

I do play AAs maps a bunch and this is one of the best small maps I've played in a long time. Paced well with most of the main action on ship, it takes a really well cordinated team to win this one. My only complaint and for this its a small one is that it could have used some sound effects to give it the lived in feel, but thats is really only noticable if you are a sniper. CQB fans will love it, Rifle only squads should try it because the main PSP's can really only be attacked on foot. Pilot and Driver players well like that some parts can only be reached by vehicle. Over all well balanced.

So much effort!

Updated version

I've updated this map by fixing some of the slow objects to make it run a bit quicker. By reducing the number of different objects and updating the environment file, it will give you a slightly better FPS. Note that there are just a LOT of objects in the map, most of which are in the one model (ie: the ship). We have been playing this map on our server with 20-30 players and it seems to play better now. As usual, let me know how you go. I am *still* working on the COOP version, but there has been so many things happening in the JO world, other maps and stuff is slowing me down!

Nice!!

One thing really ticks me off about this map... not the map itself but the user rating. I've made a few maps myself fro JO and DFX. The design is original... one of a kind, pieced together very painstakingly I can only assume. For that alone I cannot imagine why anyone would rate this map anythin less than a perfect 10! Great job BB!!
