Map Description:

DJ3/VX/V9 - Cooperative Play. Zip file updated 12/20/06 with DJ3 converted version under DJ3 UP07. Recommend 4 or more players. Good for LAN parties. Very tough with only 1 or 2 players. Serenity Beach Attack is an intense action map with waves of BGs attacking all sides of the beach where your defensive bunker is located. There is only one Mission Objective and that is to destroy a lone Communication Tower to end the game. The Tower is within view but the challenge is to get there. Watch out for the hidden emplacement .50 cal guns around the Communication Tower. Thin out the waves of invading BGs before attempting to reach the Communication Tower. There are Zodiac boats at the end of the beach for you to use if you can. Lol... This map is periodically hosted on a 16 slot server named Orange County DJ3 UP07 and has logged 120+ hours. Play this map and check your scores at www.ocserenity.com. Have Fun! Malcolm Reynolds

Ok..here is a question. When I download this and host it under VX mod....everybody joins and plays...and has a good time. When I try to join your server that is hosting the old V9-TE mod (me with VX) I am punted. I am of the opinion that the server is what makes the difference. IE...if you download this map into your VX mod or DJ3 and host it...everyone can join. Just as an observation. If you want...just look at the DJ3 servers that are hosting this map. Same with the other Serenity maps. No problem. Peoples opinion of V9-TE and VX are just that...opinions.

Above..I meant 'everyone' who has the VX (if thats what your hosting..includes players w/V9-TE) or who has the DJ3 mod (if thats what you are hosting). These are good maps...if they were hosted on VX more people could play them. These mods seem to be backward compatible.

Hello Housemouse. There were some strange object issues that I encountered when testing my V9TE maps in DJ3. The Airport Hanger in the map disappeared and chain link fences got changed to small shacks. Some internal referrence number mismatch I guess. Everything else seemed to be okay as you mentioned with the battle stuff. I am concerned about the punting off my server which has convinced me to upgrade my server to DJ3 UP07 today. I converted my Serenity maps and I think they are okay as I am now hosting them. You were not kidding, that flamethrower is a pretty awsome weapon. Thanks for the feedback. Best Regards Malcolm Reynolds

Well...first...I did not try to join your server with DJ...I know that wont work. I tried to join with the VX mod...which is the updated V9-TE Med mod. If the server was updated to VX...then anybody with the VX mod or the V9-TE Med mod could join.
