Map Description:

This version has been updated after feedback received from my older brother Steve (and my friend Bruce). I went ahead and added the things they recommended to improve upon; and even added the things my older brother said "not" to do. :) Overview: While returning from a fire fight in the city, your team's Humvee broke down. During the fire fight, one of your team mates (Jones) was wounded. He's being watched over him by Garner. To make matters worse, it's getting dark and the situation doesn't appear too good as the civilians have lit fires around your area. The fires are signals to the clans men that US forces are nearby. The good news? You still got your weapon and Bruce as a team mate. Stay put and help will arrive. enjoy Jonathan

Big mission, tough mission! Audio and text cues throughout, dynamic objective and waypoint lists, sneaky AI everywhere (including various heights) with civilians interspersed, so you must be sure of your shots. This is great stuff. An attractive map, using a high level of decoration and detail where required. If you're wanting to see some classy work, do not miss this map! 5/5 excellent work!

Everything's great in the map, sounds, events etc, BTW didn't finish it yet :) as author mentioned "Man down" ;) Anyway this SP map keeps me playing it. Only one remark: Try to make all militia's not to come so close to the wall of the buiding, maybe running around and coming from behind the corners... I rate it 5/5

Thanks for the praise. It's taking me awhile, but I'm starting to figure out how to do a few things with the editor and the WAC file. I still wish I had better control over the enemy and team mate A/I. But then I can't even control my wife, my daughter, or my dog. Oh, and I'm about 1/4 of the way thru my next single player mission. I'm hoping to make it more wide open. Jonathan

I agree with the others, this is the best map so far. You should send this one to Nova! As for the people having a tough time, I found the best weapon is the M21. Its the fastest of the sniper rifles, plus you can take out guys before they even get to you. Just pirch up on the second floor of the building you start at. For the technicals, hit the gunner first and then destroy the truck later. (thats where the M21 comes in handy) That way you won't have to worry about being blown away from the gunner!

It can get overly hetic while defending your team mates during the first part of the mission. Has anyone tried using the 50cal on the Humvee outside the building yet? :) Jonathan ps, if you like this mission, I'm fixing to upload an update to the BridgeDuty single player mission. This should make it more enjoyable.

...is the way forward. Couldn't understand where I was supposed to be at 1st, Hummer seemed as good a place as any, right up until I got hit with an RPG!! Still, once I kenw about them it was easy enough to pay them some close attention before moving onto the smaller fry!!!! Class map, very well done, lets have some more please..!! Cy.

Coming late to BHD with a rather antique computer and a love of single player shooters, I stumbled on this great site! Man Down by Johnathan is a joy to play, no timer ticking in the background like Bf1942 Desert Combat, great eye candy, a remarkable amateur made mission that I think could stand up against any the pros make! Thanks Johnathan, keep on keeping on! Mrbird out.
